i never use a towl really
well rarely ill get into that in a momment
i geberaly air/drip/sun dry
but in winf-=ter i blow dry in very quick short bursts moving the dryer around alot to not blow 1 area long at all
i mostly do the roots to keep my head from frezing then a quick once over the length the tips are still dripping when im done
later on if im chilly i do a lil more over an hour i may do a quick burst blow 4 i=or 5 times
then a couple hours later lik[l more but mine are past the floor and take hours newor undreaded hair id skip blowuing if u can instead let gravity and au[=irfloe =w do it
if your not freezing sit by a fan a bit
now on the rare ocasion i do use a tw=owel if i gotta get the most out fast in order to drt=y faster if im going out in wind-=ter i use a shamwow i twist all my dreads together then wrap the shamwow squeezing tight as i can moc[ving down root to tip 1/2 way down i switch to a dryer 1 (they send u more then 1) and as i get near the tips i fold em all over and squeeze tight eb[ven pound on it a bit (like they show to remove liquid deep in carpets)
this gets enough out to pretty much stop all dripping and a quick blow dry does the rest it does cut hours off dry time
but i havent bothers in months even tho its winter
(or so they say was outside with no shirt and eveb dripping wet fresh out of the shower 4 times this week its like so nice iut latem[ly(
as long as the hair/dreads are loose not tied up or in a hat air can circulate and they can dry at their own pace
however ..mega congoswsd over 2 inches u may want to sopeded dry cause the core can stay damp a very long time
