my hair is very thin and fine and when i started using non diluted bronners it made my hair feel the same way you described. but we do not have hard water. i continued using it, its been 3 months since i started using it, and my hair feels normal again. still not diluting it. and i love it. only thing i'm doing differently, is i stopped brushing my hair.
