alright guys i made the decision to start dreads 2 days ago. my hairs about medium length.is it ok to shower daily and wash my head with water? (just put my head under the shower head for a few seconds) not really run my hands through my hair or manipulate the hairs at all, but just run water through it daily?i am an active person. i workout daily and do sweat a lot. so a shower a day is a MUST.also how many times per week should i wash with a light, non residue, organic shampoo? once? twice? does washing with shampoo more often slow/stagnate/disrupt the dreading process?

should i use a blow dryer when i do wash the hair?or does the blow dryer dry the hair TOO much? or does that help in the dreading process?

Washing your hair is movement.Movement for your hair = Knots.Matured knots = Dreadlocks.Therefor washing your hair is fantastic for dreadlocks. I wash my hair 3-5 times a week, no need to let it be stinky, and sweaty. Now that my locks are getting much more mature, and longer. I don't wash as much. Maybe once, or twice a week.

I've been going all natural, and I wash my hair with dr bronners roughly every 1.5 weeks, maybe less. I have a shower every day, and sometimes i get my hair wet as this stops my scalp getting too itchy.I've found washing it makes my hair become looser, but then it tightens itself back up again a day or two later. As for drying... i've just been throwing a towel over it and going mental. Don't worry about it, its all good
