congos in back

how can I properly check for congos on the back of my head? I have like 3 layers of dreads in the back. the only thing Ive been doing is lifting up each one to see if another rises with it. im not sure if that is effective or not.

just feel;l li u got fingers feel the roots pull 2 in seperate directions if u feel/head a lil rip as they seperate then they were starting to combine

Feel the roots...you should be able to feel if they're combining. What I do is grab a section of lots of dreads then pull them apart one at a time ...I usually find 2-3 trying to congo a day
