i was just discussingthat if you have a swift moving stream channel it through 4 or 5 pipes now heres a very ineficient built out of junk way to do this rin a bar through the center of the pipes with some sort of bearing so it can spin now add multiple fan blades to that or heres a novel ideai had those old styp=le non motorized lawn mowers take a dozen weld the blades together end to ewnd put them in the pipes so they can spin attach your generators build a damn with the oipes going through it doesnt need to be a hoover damn just a pile of dirt covering the opipes so all the waters channeled through them spinning yoir home made turbines

Thats an excellent idea!! We actually have a damn and the water runs through the pvc all the way to our house down hill so we were trying to calculate the weight of water per foot to figure out the right pressure. But putting something in the middle of the pipes seems like it could create more preasure while creating a flow for the fans...it could be do-able. definitley!!

you increae pressure by reducing the diameter

a ton of water can fall out of the sky with no restriction so very lil pressure channel that into a funnel your decreasing the diamiter wich speeds up the water flowing through it and increwasing the pressure

so say you have a stream going into a damn the streams 5 foot wide being forced into a 18 inch pipe that narrows to 12 then 8 then 3

thats going to produce alot of pressure narrow that 3 to 1 mililerter and you can cut cement with it

Lol it's been super interesting living off grid. Going from an urban area with everything at the touch of a button to a House in the redwoods going back to the basics. lol and I couldn't love it more!! Made me realize how much people are dependent on all this new technology. But, if there's a power outage, I could be good lol. Were trying to figure out a water turbine for water energy. We also looked into wind millls, but theres not enough wind. Theres also a way to run a generator off wood chips!! These alternative forms of energy would be revolutionary, and sustainable, and natural... Sure it's easy to go pay a pg&e bill butttt, the gratification from figuring out how energy works and like putting yourself to use is SOAWESOME. Where are you located?? I'm in the surrounding mountains of Santa Cruz and it's amazing, I would suggest checkin it out if you haven't already!

Well when you put it that way I can fulllly see the picture now. We also figure out how much pressure would create how much power. I think it would depend on the size of the turbine I'm guessing. It's been so rainy and cold it's almost impossible to work on it now but most likely in a few months when the rain stops.

Of course :] you could still seperate just fine, and take Billy baths. I actually lived in the Carolina mountains for some time and since I didn't think about my hair whatsoever, it dreaded. I was young and didn't know how to care for them, but still, it happened.

What about if I was planning to live withought permanent structures? (I actually know a a family that went that route and they are doing fine. Very healthy people, actually. You get that way when you have to hunt and gather for food.)

Hey there!! Your post caught my attention because I DO live off-grid in the mountains. Even though it's considered off-grid, grid-line free, we still generate power. We have a propane generator and get our water off of the stream that runs along our house. It's truly bliss. My boyfriend has pretty close to mature dreads mine are well on their way. Living off grid doesn't mean you don't get to shower or get clean. Our house is fully plumbed from the stream with excellent water pressure due to the gravity!! We use Dr. Bronners, and a towel just like the rest. :P I would definitely recommend finding a place in the mountains. We aren't the only ones, there are neighbors. And peace. Cleaner air. More wildlife. In one night we encounterd a turkey, rabbit, frog, wolf spider, skunk, deer, fox, mice, squirrels lol anddd theres bob cats and mountain lions that we thankfully haven't come accross yet. Even though we live where we live, we do also have a social life in the cities and get out. Which reinforces the amazing feeling of coming home to our what feels like a vacation home!! It's truly the way to live. Not to mention my amazing garden that's coming along, and the coi pond I'm putting in for aquaponics!

Anything is possible.

:)

Peace&Love
