Hi everyone! I have an old lemon that has some brown spots and has been sitting out... Do you think it would be okay to use in a salt spray mix for my dreadlocks, or is spraying icky lemon in one's hair not cool? ;)

You are better off not using lemons to begin with honestly.. It slowly eats away at your hair shafts.

Lemons and limes are citric acid. While it's not a strong acid on the list of strong acids, it's more than strong enough to seep into your hair shaft and start to degrade your hair from the inside out. People use lemons to lighten their hair. That lightening is how the damage shows up at first. Then it starts to make your hair dry and brittle. Brittle is not something you want in locks. Nor is super dry. Locks should be soft

No way! I had always thought that lemons help dreads lock up. Not that I need it, my dreadlocks are mature. I had no idea it was harmful.
