Just starlings

I have started dreading my hair. I am wondering how to start the ones that will frame my face. I want to be able to pull them up and still be able to wear them down so do I form them hanging down or towards the back. Or what, I am not sure.

I would just let them be and let them find their own way. T/R usually slips loose and falls apart before coming together anyway. Backcombing sounds somewhat painful for the sensetive hairs near your temples.
