weaving wool around baby dreads

Hello dreaded friends,

I have just started my dread journey, and am in the midst of knotting my hair bit by bit. As of right now I have 4 dreads, and will be adding more over the next couple weeks until my entire head is done.

My question is this: I've been weaving/encircling wool around my dreads as I finish them. My thought is that this can only be good for them: the wool will increase friction, sort of like wearing a wool tam; as well as holding them together and making them look nice & colourful. Am I wrong here? If I'm not wrong, why don't I see more people doing a similar thing?

wiol will leacve all sorts of fuzzies and lint so u will have purple fuzz encased in them forever

if u must wrap use hemp or enmbroidery thread but it will squeeze em making them real skinny

better to leave em free

Yep, what SE said and on a side note, have you ever smelt wet wool? After quite a few washing I would tend to think that an odor would start. I could be wrong but I once had a wool coat that this happened to.

Peace
