Hi all. I have about 10 naturally blunted tips out of about 60-70 dreads. Was hoping that they would loosen on their own, but they are tight balls that I think formed mostly from tams or head bands I wore during the early messy stages. The others are beautiful wispy ends.
Since they are not loosening on their own, should I work on them with my fingers with the aid of essential oils to un-blunt them? If so, how many strands should I work out of each dread to give them a drip line?
Normally I let my dreads do their own thing, in their own time and would never change how THEY want to look & form, but in this cause I want to avoid any future problems due to blunted ends as my dreads ARE for life.
They are 1 year & 1 day old done by twist & rip after natural sectioning. The blunted sections started their journey from almost down to my waist and to now above my shoulders.
Thanks and Peace
