What is this?

Hey, I have been growing dreads for 2 years, using nothing but natural products. I started with Dr. Bronners soap and moved to the nag champa dread shampoo from the site that is advertised through this site. In between washes I use a spray mixture of Rosemary, Lavendar, and Tea Tree--and sometimes sea salt spray a couple of hours before washing. I had to trim the end of one of my dreads today due to it being too large, and this was inside of it. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Ps. I've never used any wax or anything that would cause build up.

Thank you!

oh wow. you need to do a deep clean baking soda rinse!. dr. bronners leaves residue in hard water so that might be it combined with other stuff. vickis shampoo is great but i still thnki will alternate it with the baking soda just in case there is any residue.
