When do I start separating?

when you need to

1sr u need knots to seperate then u need 2 or more clumps of knots knotting togerber

and or 1 big clump forming too big

if u lift 1 dread and onother moves seperate em

I have a video posted on my page that shows how to go about separating. You won't need to until they are longer and start to tangle up the body of the lock. They can be and should be somewhat tangled together at the roots. That's normal and healthy. But when they start to tangle further down the lock, they need to be separated
