Just use baking soda and apple cider vinegar! Its very inexpensive.

Suave shampoo DOES have conditioners in it that will "keep your hair tangle free"

that's not a very good choice for dreadlocks. it has silicones in it which will result in major build up. if you don't want to go the bs/acv route than you could always try dish soap. there's a natural one called dishmate. i use it for my dishes but i bet it would work quite well for dreadlocks. gentle cleansing and essential oils. i buy it at sprouts for about $3.

I have very hard water so the BS/avc wont work. This is the only clarifying shampoo I could find out of CVS, Walmart and Kmart. If I could afford the gas to drive 1.5hrs one-way I would went to Sally's but for that much I'd just buy bucks!

I personally don't like dawn for my hair either, it left my dreads feeling brittle.

Have you tried Dr. Bronners? I bought mine at a local grocery store in the organic/healthfoods section.

Sorry, I forgot about Dr. Bronners not being good with hard water

Have you tried the soap from dreadlocksshampoo.com?
