Help: roots of my dreads

So the right side of my head feels kind of empty. i think this is because i have fatter dreads on this side. there is this one dread though that the root is not a good shape for a root to be. it's a linear shape rather than a square or a circle shape, so it causes the dread to be flat and the root looks really matted and i don't like it. is There anything i can do? they're over a year old and really thick. you cant really tell in the picture my hair is really dark.

the roots fine its just a monstor sized dread is all

no u cant do nothin unless u split o=]it or comb it out and make it 4 or 5 or 6 or 8 or 10 dreads

Mature locks can be combed out and started over. If takes a bit of work, but if you want it to be 2+ locks, it may be worth it
