I want to add some funky colors to my hair but I'm hoping to avoid dying my dreads and adding extensions. I will be putting hair wraps in, but I have also been reading about felted wool. Any tips??

Embroidery thread, hemp string, yarn. Best bets there, they are easy to wrap up, easy to remove. There's no limit on the stuff you can do with beads, too. Make some with polymer clay, there are tons of colors, including sparkly ones.

Embroidery thread and unpolished hemp are the best. Polished help is polished with wax.

Like Mons said, you can make your own beads. Just get a dowel the width of your locks and form the clay around the wood.

Felting wool onto your lock isn't bad, but not great. Just make sure to take it off when you wash

There are a few tutorials on YouTube of how to make wool extensions that you just tie in. You can get a ton of fun colors that way!
