I find 1 cup of water for every TBSP of baking soda works well. For baby locks you should use way less ACV than baking soda, but for mature locks you can increase the amount. I used like half acap full in 1 cup of water. Thats like 1 TSP of ACVfor every cup of water.
The reason for the baking soda is that it cleans your hair really well! It cleans anything well! Baking soda has a basic pH and can cause your hair to get dry if used alone. The ACV has an acidic pH. So the reason for using the ACV is that is balances your hair's pH, keeping it healthy.
Mix your oils with your baking soda and water. Pour it over your head and let soak. Rinse that out well and then pour the ACV rinse over your head. For baby dreadsyoudon't really want it to soak, rinse it offrelativelysoon. For more mature dreads you should let it soak. Yeah, SE already said most of that...
Your hairshouldn'tsmell like the ACV at all. Oh, and I've never heard of anyone using rice vinegar, so I don't know what to tell ya.
