using thin rope/twine

today i found a small kinda ropelike string and decided to use it as a wrap or to hang an earing from without poking a hole through my dread. i think it was originally used to hold a tag onto some pants lol. well anyway i was just wondering if this would be ok to leave on for extended periods and for washing. im lazy and barely even take out my glass and surgical stainless steel at all.

thats about the same thing i use if i wrap anything up, two weeks, sometimes one is long enough to give the hair a headstart.

sweet thanks guys. i do take out my stuff occasionally just to make sure they dont get stuck. especially with my glass stuff i made out of my first chillum. any suggestions how to tie it? not sure what its called, but i just tied it like the first step of tying shoes then did it again with the leftover string on the other side. not sure how long itll stay tied
