Can't stop fiddling with my hair :(

I'm a bit ocd and I can't stop myself from faffing about with my dreads all day every day and it seems to be hindering their progress at the front as well as making them really thin. How did you guys control yourselves and stop yourselves fussing about with your dreads every 5 minutes?

wear a necklace or pendant or a string round your neck and fiddle with that instead

I've got stretched lobes. I just play with the earrings I have in. Sometimes I pull on them to try and stretch them a bit more to the next size
