I'm 32 years old and started with tnr and until last week was re-twisting and ripping after each wash. I FINALLY decided they're gonna dread how they want to and me messing with them, other than a lil seperation mantainence, only hinders their progress.A lot if them are smaller than I would like but have good locking 1 to 1 1/2in at the roots then just straight soft hair for the remainder of the length.I have dyed my hair with henna with no ill results. It's just strange how my mom won't touch my hair and my dad prefers me to keep it up. My KIDS on the other hand (3 girls 7, 9 & 11) LOVE them and like to find the ones with S-curves and loops so they can name them.I can't say I ALWAYS happy and never get frustrated with my locks but over-all I feel freer and am enjoying the ride!Devon

What your kids think is way more important than your parents. But in the end it's always how you like them.
I understand that you get frustrated once in a while. It happens to us all. But it's a process that takes some time. Just bare with it. Feeling free is what it's all about.

SE it's so difficult to just leave 'em be, even though it's the simplest thing in the world!
