so right now i'm loving my henna red & how it's fading or not fading & wouldn't change a thing except my roots but i'm not planning on redoing them quite yet either. when i do decide to do something about it (if i have to/chose to) would sun in be a decent option on henna? on dreads in general? baby dreads? it says "conditions as it lightens" but it also has peroxide & lemon juice...anyone tried it or have knowledge about it to share? other options for lightening henna in dreads? anything anyhow related would be appreciated :)

i used to use sun-in a lot in the 80's. its changed quite a bit over the years. i remember it making my hair feel like hay. they've added a lot of conditioning ingredients to offset the harshness of the hydrogen peroxide and lemon juice. i don't know anything about henna so i can't help you there but i would suggest you find a different option at least until you have a full head of mature dreadlocks that can handle a bit of conditioning. just a suggestion:)

Plus the lemon juice is bad for hair in general. Heather might know if it's ok when it's really diluted. But as a general rule, lemon juice (citric acid) is really bad for hair. I seeps into the hair shaft and breaks it down from the inside. That's why it lightens your hair. Lightening is how you can visualize the damage
