Whats up?
My names Nick Knox, Ima 21 year old musicianfrom Ontario, Canada. Ive been reading through these forums a lot over the last couple months. I've learned so much, and every day I come on here I usually pick up on something that I didn't catch before.
When I first started looking up dreadlocks online, I knew absolutely nothing about them, other than the fact that something inside mefeels a pull towards them.
I read a lot of different sites, and discussions but I must say, Soaring Eagles knowledge that he is sharing just seemed overall more genuine than anything else I found. This is why months later I still check back here several times a week.
I figure I might as well join an interact more with everyone, Im sure there plenty more I can learn.
I was literally shaved head my entire life, I've always wanted locks. But I always worried about the in between stages. Because I was not used to myself with here. This year I stopped denying myself. haha
I started washing with baking soda and ACV a couple months back while I let my hair grow out a lil bit. Simply because I always found regular shampoos an conditioners to be like drugs for my hair. Using them often left me needing to use themMORE often. Havent had this issue with the BS&ACV.
My hair is only 4 inches at its longest, maybe lol. But about 2 and a half weeks ago I jus stopped combing, and playing with hair. Since then. Ive been amazed!
My hair is sectioning itself, I already have dreads forming on all sides of my head, NO WHERE NEAR locked, but tight enough together that i can feel them, wash them, and seperate sections with them staying together.
It is honestly one of the most beautiful, amazing processes to witness, and I have barely begun my journey.
Its like every time I wash my hair, every time I get out of bed, its different, sometimes it looks like sections are coming loose, but than the next time I sleep or wash, they feel tighter than ever before. It's like my hair has a mind of its own and it wants to dread as much as I want it too.
I do not understand why anyone would want to get locks and NOT go through this process. I love it and I've always been really impatient lol. butI feel like it is who I am.
I will take pictures within the next week, or maybe a little video but I just wanted to say hello and share a bit of my story thus far.
A big shout out to Soaring Eagle! This community you have built is amazing!
