Ok, I'll be the first to ask... I hope you're planning on throwing away your crochet hook? Crocheting is probably the next worst thing you can do to locks next to waxing them.
Second... Take the rubber bands out. They only cause damage. You might think that they are good because the progress you made in the beginning isn't coming out in the shower, but really, bands cause weak points, kinks, and can get sucked into your locks and rot there. If you are really against taking them out, at least take the ones off at the roots. If you leave the ones at the tips, your hair won't untangle. But then again, that the point of locks. Your hair needs to be loose and free to tangle and untangle. That how locks form. Plus if you take the ones at the roots out, you won't look like sideshow bob. And they will actually start to look like you are growing locks.
Third... Your sections are massive. I hope you are aware that as the mature and grow out, you will have locks that wide. It looks like the bigger ones in the video could be around 2 inch sections. That the width of your wrist. Your locks will end up being as wide as your wrist. Not sure if that's what your going for, but, just to let you know, washing and drying them that big is a huge pain in the ass. I know. I have a few of them. If you want advice on how to care for locks that big let me know. If you didn't realize that they'd get that big, and don't want them that big, comb them out and start over. And if you do that, don't use the hook.
