Awful Dandruff!

Alright guys, so here is the deal.

I have been dreading my hair for around 3-4 months. I started washing it with BS, but soon bought some liquid soap off the dread site that SE recommended. Smells great, works great. Problem is, my scalp is still horrible, white flakes especially by my ears. I like hot showers and would not really like to go buy moreeee things (such as oils) for my hair. Any suggestions?

Mos def stop the hot showers! I wash my hair twice a week, if I must. I have found that Trader Joe's makes a nice, mild tea tree & peppermint shampoo. I don't use a lot, but it helped with my horribly itchy scalp. I also focus way more on washing / massaging my scalp than on washing my dreads.

I was my hair around every other day or every 3 days. I am not using any sea salt. I will keep trader joes in mind. They are down the road a mile or so!
