Accessories putting a hault to dread process?

I'm now four months into my journey, and I've heard from a few cats that putting beads in your dreads can help them knot up faster. So the other day I put a couple beads onto about five of my dreads, and I wrapped some hemp twine around two of my bigger ones. So does anybody know whether this will help the process, slow it down, or not do anything?
Thanks~

That does make sense, Thanks for the tips :)
But what about wrapping an entire dread with hemp twine?
