mildew smell?

mkay so a few of my dreads that i kept in my hair, have, i noticed, smelled like mildew after i shower, the smell isn't there when it's not wet, and it's only the ends of my dreads. What should i do about this?

Maybe you can cut one of the tips off to see if there is actually mold in it? Not much advice but that's what I would do!

If you want, you can wash them with tea tree oil or lavender (both will kill mildew) and you can get these in essential oil form and use a few drops diluted into water, or get them in dr bronners form. If you don't have access to either, you can always boil some water and let your dreadies soak for 10-15 mins... I've never tried that way but I heard it can kill mildew as well good luck!!
