what makes dreads smell bad is usually mold. Mold is very bad...not only does it smell....but it can cause dread rot....the hair actually rots. very nasty stuff. To avoid mold make sure your hair dries completely after you wash it. Never ever go to bed with wet hair. Never ever pull it up in a pony tail or a scarf when it is wet. Dry dreads are happy dreads!

stinky dreads are usally from them not drying completly when you wash them. No problems though, keep em clean and get those suckers dried! If you're worried try spraying on someyummy essential oils, or hang your head over a burning incence stick!
