Hello,

I'm about to wash my dreadlocks for the first time, and I picked up a bottle of Kiehl's Tea Tree Oil shampoo. See it here: http://www.kiehls.com/Tea-Tree-Oil-Shampoo/346,default,pd.html

Soaring Eagle, or anyone who's tried this: should I dilute the shampoo before using? Or just lather up as normal and apply to dreadlocks? Thanks.

Yours,

Timothy

Well i personally would not use it at all.. it may have some good stuff in there but there are some no no's.

It has ammonium lauryl sulfate whish could cause irritation to the skin & eyes. if you breathe it in it could be harmful. Just stay away from sulfates. It also has vitamin B5 to moisturize, nurture and CONDITION the hair.

Studying this site months ago, i took SE's advice to a newcomer. He basically said to avoid anything that sounds like a mad scientist created it.

I personally would not use this shampoo.

Damn it! I hadn't noticed that!

I'm just going to put it on the shelf and use the baking soda for 6-12 months. Then reevaluate based on results.
