Dying dreads with box color...? Need help.

I'm about a month or two into my tnr/slight backcombed dreads . They are bleached but my roots are brown. There is about 1/2"+ of my roots. I want to go back to my natural brown hair and the only way to do that is to dye them. I don't have a lot of money so I would only be able to get the box color at walmart or something. Which brand should I get, how many boxes, and what are the instructions for dying dreads with box color?

I'm pretty desperate.

Um, I'd get two boxes, just make sure to cover all of it so you don't get spots! Drensh it with the color. If your hair is bleached it will color easy, so I'd get your natural color shade.

That is really not true. I have been a licensed professional doing hair for 31 years. If you posted a pic I could tell you exactly what to get. If you aren't careful, you run the risk of having the hair come out very dark are not retaining the color at all. Since you are tight on $, I would like to save you some time and trouble...please post a pic
