Ahhh, so itchy and flaky!!!!

Correlating with the change in weather my scalp has become so dry I just cannot get comfortable. I can see flakes in my hair and anytime I scratch my scalp at work I have to go to the washroom to make sure no flakes are visible. It is just driving me crazy!!! I wash my hair 3-4x/wk but I need some suggestions on how to change this. I spend a lot of time backpacking/multi-day hiking so washing my hair diligently with clean city water just cannot happen so I need some suggestions that accommodate my lifestyle as well.Thanks so much guys!
