crochet dreads painful picture warning

gotta love those crochet dreads huh?

this popped up on my facebook wall a loctician from another country posted this advertising his service and his "happy customers"

just 1 word came to mind...ouch

Mine were also made with the crochet hook but were not as tight as these are. I don't think that customer had a nice night sleep like that, would have hurt so much.

I don't like the big gaps between the dreads, looks more like cornrows.

its just a horrible thing to ever do to dreads yea many come out ok after crochet if alowed to recover but its just a horrible method..should neverr be used

and the excuse always is "crochet lets us dread withi=out using wax"

like theres only the 2 choices

destroy em with wax or destroty em with a needle

no other alernatives

i kinda think crochets worse then wax cause with effort u can remove wax

but u cant repair broken hair

some of them look like the dreads were pulled through the roots as well (i forgot what you call that)

@ Andrea, i've heard and seen that before. don't know about that eighter :s

thats called interlocking interlockings also a very bad idea

yup sure was but i do know a few there with natural dreads but yea they push crochet there like crazy

the most popular method in indonesia as well. they thoughtcrocheting is better than wax just because wax trap dirt and will rot. also some dreadies stuffed some hair they bought (natural hair) to add the thickness of their lock. X_x

ye cause crochet makes them supernaturaly thin so to make em normal thicknes u need 3 times more hair then normal

you can see they are done extremely tight, look how straight and stiff they are !!! ouch they can look really good though
