Hey ive had dreads now for a year no wax nada. Just backcombed to start them. I used to be worried about my hair being loose but now there locked up mostly but now I have a problem with mold. I rinsed my hair with just water at first so I think that's why there moldy. Now I use apple cider vinegar baking soda sea salt and hot water. But it still don't remove the mold in my hair. It's not visable but still is nasty. What's the best thing to use?

several options

3/4 cup white vinager 1/4 water 30-60 drops lavgender oil pour on leave on soaking a daty or 3 (the smell goes way fast)

sun dry sun dry sun dry as much as u can sun dry

other options take a good handful of thyme toss in boiling water lower heat to simmer simmer for 20 min till good and strong strain and cool

spray on and leacve on

bleach or chlorine probly will do it too

but sun drying is the best thing u can do

never wrap in a towel when wet never tie up wet never out on a hat when wet

let alotta airflow get all arund em till dry

(not recomending chlorine or bleach exvcept as a last resort)

Ok I got tea tree oil instead beacuse I couldent find lavender oil locally. Can I substitute with tea tree oil? Also do I soak my hair in it or let my hair be damp with the mixture for a while?
