Does anyone spend a lot of time in the ocean?

I was wondering how spending a lot of time in sea water affects dreads. I am concerned about the pollution that is becoming so prevalent in the oceans. And what kind of washing do you do after having your dreads in the sea? I will be moving onto a boat and fresh water and hot water will be limited. I figure there has got to be some surfers and divers here who can give some advice. Thanks!

I wonder if Berkey water purefication works on removing salt. I love my Berkey and when I am not needed to help my mother anymore, I'm going sailing. Thought about this question you asked ... water is a problem on boats, I know, and it made me wonder about using the Berkey for salt water.

Radiation in water can be removed with zeolite.
