braid and neglect?

i have recently cut my hair and i'm letting it grow back out so i can start my dreads over. unfortunately it's not long enough to go anywhere with neglect yet, but after doing some research i'm thinking that's how i'll do 'em. i was also thinking about (once it grows back out) braiding the hair and then neglecting it from there, maybe rubbing them every now and then. any thoughts?

braiding then neglecting ewill most likely take longer then straight neglect rubbing can undo as much as it helps (if it helps at all)
braiding 1st will define the section sizes (but why when natural sectionings better)
if u do braid 1st then let em be loosely braided so they can fall apart and start to dread

thanks! the more i look at it the more natural sectioning sounds better. haha it'll just take a bit.

jeez. glad you told me that haha.
@SE right now it's about two inches long. i cut my old ones off about a year back and it was a TERRIBLE idea. i was just going to stop brushing my hair as it grows out. average growthis about six inches a year anyways, so it would actually be faster that way.

haha welli have that blonde and blue thing working for me. i loved having dreads but theytook forever to lock up last time i had them (this was due to the lack of maintainence, which was brought on by an abundance of drugs and alchohol). i figure as long as i have to wait for my hair to grow out, i can at least start letting it knot up as it goes along.
