my unshrinking dreads

is it possible?

cuz for a while i washed with really harsh soap and my dreads shrunk loads: (sorry about the picture i had a wierd setting on the webcam :P)

recently ive been washing with more natural and gentle soap (also less soap and more water) and theyve been "growing" like mad: (this pic i took seconds ago)

I actually continued to lose length for about my first 8 mnths losing about 2 inches total although mine are slightly bigger in size!
