I found a soap at the dollar store called "basics" and it's by dial. It docent seem to have any conditioners but I was wondering I'd it would be better for me to use the baking soda wash stuff instead of any kind of shampoo . Which ones better?

Well I split 2 of my dreadS so naturally they came a little inknotted. When I used to soap for the first time today it seemed to almost condition my hair so I don't think I'm goig to use it anymore. What else do you recomens other than the sea salt spray and the arm and hammer and water solution.

yea I think you're better off using the baking soda wash and maybe alternating it with maylees soaps. The ingredients looked a lil sketchy but that's really more of a personal preference. I know a lot of people like the Burts Bees or like Thundersquall reccomended the kiss my face. You kinda just have to play around with a few different types and see what works best for you. When my dreads were babies the BS seemed to really help them knot and i would switch it up with maylees so they wouldn't get too dry. I skipped the ACV altogether. Good Luck Let us now how it works out!

I was thinking a out using dr. Bronners. How good is that?
depends on the type of water you have... any castile based soaps aren't too good with hard water. Then again, I live in a city with some of the softest water in the country and dr. bronners still left me a little slimy, even after diluting it. Give it a try though, and worst case scenario, you'll have AWESOME body soap if it fails on your hair.

Agreed. Dr. Bronners/Maylees left a sort of residue behind on my scalp due likely to my hard water. Not to say that they aren'texcellent soaps to use mind you. However, even if Dr. Bronners doesnt work for your hair, it can work for your face, body, teeth, floor, dog, kid, etc etc lots of uses for it.
