Clove essential oil works well too, and can be easier to administer. Also, cut out any sugar and white flour from your diet!xo

Ok I have worked in the dental field for 13 years...what is going on? Upper/lower...molar/front tooth...does this tooth have a filling/or not...hot sensitive/ cold sensitive? hurt to bite down? Is the pain in the jaw area? Ear area? Give me way more to go on.
If the gum is swollen and you have throbbing pain through your whole jaw, it could be an infection or abscess. If that's the case, it can help to put a regular tea bag between the gum area of the bad tooth & your lip/cheek. Sleep with it that way, & it will help to draw out the infection. You'll know if it worked cuz the tea bag will have thick nasty stuff on it.This is no substitute for dentist visits or antibiotics if it's past fixable at home...& this might not even apply to you. Just thought I'd share that little home remedy.AND yes, clove oil works best for numbing toothaches.

I had a friend who had a really bad throat infection that antibiotics would only put at bay for a while and it consistently came back. He was at the health food store and a lady recommended grapeseed oil in a spray bottle, apparently grapeseed oil has antibiotic/astringent properties. He said it was the only thing that worked.
This site has a couple options all with people saying what worked for them. http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/tooth_abcess.html
Grapeseed oil mixed with clove oil in a sprayer. It will numb the area and the grapeseed oil will treat the infection.

well its on the upper jaw, and yea it is a cracked tooth, infact its broke in half, its been like that for a bit now, but yesterday i was drinking some water out of a glass, and then got bumped into, pushing the glass into my mouth, and that made it start to hurt, i know, i will get to a dentist as soon as i can....
now that im grown, i wish i took better care of my teeth when i was young. and now im paying for it, but cant do anything about the past so now i just try to do the best i can with taking care of them,

Ok You have a broken tooth. There really is not any thing that will solve the problem until that tooth is pulled. I assuming that it is a molar in the back. Will break if you bit down on something hard or just the wrong way and if it had a older larger filling in it ...it is prone to crack. With it being craked it's nerves are exposed to the environment now, which now with time and bacteria cause even more pain. The growth of bacteria will be causing you pain. The broken tooth will also cause you pain, top that with the exposed nerves. You may want to go to a local Community College that has a dental program in it...they will treat some dental problem much cheaper than a DDS office. The upper tooth has only 2 root, lower molars have 3...they will take an x-ray see if the roots are straight, not curved...being straight...it will be a easy extraction. If you have an infection going on...you need to get that under control in order to get numb for the extraction....it is really hard to numb you up with an infection going on. If I were you I would start calling around and beg if I had too to get it out. One way to really know if it is cracked is to put a small wad of tissue or a cotton roll and gently bite down on it (not with your full force) and release...you will have pain once you release. I just had a molar extraction about 2 months ago, it cost me $145.00( I am in a higher priced area for DDS work)( you should be able to get it done cheaper if it is simple extraction)...very easy to have done, the upper will heal up quicker than the lower, food does not get all caught up in there as it pools in the lower molar area with ease. Please let me know what you do do. Tea bags are use to sooth the gum tissue...but it will not take the pain away. Watch out for dry-socket after the extraction. If you are swollen...you now have an infection...peace and this momma has dreads and loves DDS stuff
