My parents finally came to a compromise with me and that is if I want dreads I can only have a few in my hair, like 3 or 4 scattered around. I'm wondering if it eats up the hair surrounding it and if there's any way to prevent that from happening. D: It kinda sucks.

Just a few dreads...
youd have to brush the hair around it they might try to eat someand u can always start a few dreads then allow the rest to dread on its own as they get moree used to it
