Hey all, i'm new here, and im glad i have found this site, i am or WAS about to order a knotty boy starter kit. judging from ppls remarks on these kinda products... no thanku!!can anyone advise me on natural products to start my dreading process please?I have been pining for dreads the last few years, i went the synthetic route, they are nice, but i want real ones, i'm all for natural.i did sit for quite a few hours a few years ago, my partner (bless him) helped me out, i was adamant that i wanted big fat chunky dreads, but after the pain staking effort, i didnt like them, i used a commercial wax, and o dear, lol... it looked as tho i had big greasy tree branches hanging off my head... not the look i was hoping for, lol!!any hints tips or advice would b greatly appreciated, cheers guysbig love and sunshine smiles,Kim x x

Products aren't needed to start dreadlocks. The simplest and easiest way to start dreadlocks is to stop brushing your hair and stop using conditioner when you wash your hair.

You are welcome! The roots take care of themselves without needing anything. At some point we all have to understand this one fact. Dreadlocks are sections of knotted and matted hair.If anyone has a section of hair that is matted and knotted together that individual has a dreadlock. If that sections of knotted and matted hair is left tangled the remaining undreaded hair will lock up by itself as the hair continues to become more knotted and matted together. When the entire section of hair is knotted and matted together it is now a mature dreadlock.

(they were already dreading by that point and i just twidled with em)a few weeks playing in the woods and forgetting to comb was all it tookthe natural way indeed is the best waybut theres other options as well that are quick and easy, twist and rip (no products are ever needed) will get em started.,.then nothingwwell almost nothing u should still seperate so they dont grow into 1 huge dreadhuge chunky dreads are harder to clean and dry.. i wouldnt let em get over an inch thick myself but its up to u

Welcome to the site and like others have said, dreadlocks are what your hair becomes if left to it's natural form. This is what your hair truly is. Just live and let it live. It'll form into some nice looking dreadlocks soon. =) Oh but keep em clean. Baking soda and vinegar rinse once a week.
