So I'm new to dreading and this forum. I have just done my own dreads. Half a head of 15 dreads in total . Doing a row every evening for the 3 evenings. So I've had them about 3/5 days now. So I used the twist and rip method. And did not use any products. I have washed my hair before. And yesterday washed my normal hair but not my dreadlocks yet as I was too scared. Anyways question is how are the looking? Is this frizzy normal? And why do they look so messy and scruffy...? Anything I have done wrong?
New dreads. 5 days in.

That's just how TnR dreads start. They will keep changing from here on.

Well be prepared because they will only get messier.
As for washing you need some actual dreadlock shampoo. The best one can be found here https://dreadlockshampoo.com/shop/ liquid is best for new dreads.
You only need to wash 2-3 times a week and to dry don't use a towel the best thing is to shake them to get the majority of the water out and then just let them air dry.

those shampoos are absolutely the best i'll also add that you mostly want to worry about washing the calp, the shampoos have microfine clays that clean as they rinse trough the dreads so the less you actually rub the hair itself the better. just use fingertips to get the scalp good and clean then rinse through.
be gentle in the early washes but don't hesitate to wash often washing is good and its ok if they loosen up or even fall apart
