Hello new to dreading, starting freeform dreads

Hello I am starting freeform dreads using this tutorial

So far I have gotten these products https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016VU66RS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2AXUFMFR6MNZP and Murrays Loc-Lock gel as shown in the video.

My questions are:

1: Is this a good tutorial to follow for freeforming dreads?

2: What other hair products should I be buying other than Murrays Loc-Lock Gel?

3: When starting freeform dreads how am I suppose to sleep on them without them getting smashed and messing them up?

4: Should I buy a dread cap like this to sleep in https://www.amazon.com/Beauty-Town-Luxury-Spandex-Dreadlocks/dp/B00EVY9ZFM/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1471714045&sr=8-3&keywords=dread+cap

5: When kind of washing, conditioning routine should I be using on my freeform dreads and what products.

well do not use that gel! murays all contain wax..dread killers

you want them getting mashed that's how they compress and tighten

you want no products at all except a good dread shampoo
