I'm three years in but it feels like some of my dreads as thinning in the middle and have some soft spots within the middle. It feels like I can untwist them apart. Should I let them fall out and just let it regrow on its own afterwards? Not too sure...

Well, I do palm roll...but have cut back on it. Only because I have a professional job and try to keep away from that moss covered rock look. I use tea tree oil on my hair to clense the scalp and Neutrogena anti-residue to shampoo with.

in the photos i don't see a serious problem, but if there is a pfroblem, its caused by the palm rolling it does nothing helpful only harmful and your job legally cannot make you maintain them in any way other then washing..wich brings me to your other issue..
nutragena anti residue is extremely toxic,,its not non residue its a residue stripper so its very harsh
it should only be used a few times a year only to remove residues if you have alot of buildup
since your not using heavy conditioners and shampoos with lots of residue you hould not use it unless you notice buildup
try dreadlockshampoo.com or any other all natural healthy dread shampoo instead

But if I were to hypothetically break a dread in the middle, that wouldnt halt the growth process of said dreadlock correct?
