Questions about new natural dreads

Hi,

I have just started natural dreads after a bad episode of crochet dreads which I combed out. I have questions about maintenance and stuff.

When do I start separating? Only when they actually dreads? I have curly hair so they all get together in a big mott.

Can I massage my scalp when I wash my hair without rubbing the hair too much?

Can I touch my hair? Like, if they are all up in the air in the morning, can I flat them with my hands?

I also have thin hair naturally but the crochet made it worst (lost a lot of hair), is it ok fo me to start this journey now? I started 3 days ago.

ifthety are  forming into huge matts then seperarte or when 2 clumps are  joining together they dont have to be dreadsa but shouldnt be loose hair either  if theres some firmness to it when u feel it 

u can scrub yoiur scalp while washing

but if u can avoid patting it down etc u should

You always answer so fast!!  I will try not patting my hair down. Can I headbang? I'm a metal head and is often in the need to headbang

yes that will actualy help it dread but i dont get why you people do that (or like metal hahga) doesnt it hurt your neck?

even headbang  brings to mind mentally challenged kidsthat need to wear a helmet cause they bang thier heads on the wall

but yes the movement will cause tangles its helpful

Oh I can pretty much dance on any kind of music as I am a profesionnal contemporay dancer  Rainbow sure looks like fun!!
