Im currently on day one of my dread journey but this is not my first. Twice before I quit months in. Both times were natural/neglect. The reason I combed them out was maybethey were happening too fast? Lol. Sounds crazy but I would seperate daily sometimes twice yet still I would have these massive congos forming in the back and sides. Maybe I just wasnt seperating properly or enough but they HURT. My uploaded pic is one day after using dr bronners and no conditioner or styling products. Extreme frizzies and kink. All I hear is that my hair type is perfect for dreading but that really has not been the case!

Oh and if any one knows how to flip profile pics pls let me know lol. When I took the pic and even uploading it its straight but for some reason displays as sideways :/

Is it brushed out here? I am at a stage (just over 4 mo) where I have to separate 2x/daily especially the bottom layers around my neck. Sounds like you just have to separate more b/c your hair dreads so fast. You would probably go thru this phase anyway, it's just happening earlier. It's a pain in the ass, but separate as much as needed!!! Also, just making sure your sections aren't too large- that could be causing the pain.

Nah this is 24hrs after a wash but no products, conditioner, brushing etc. Its incredibly dry and frizzy.

I didnt want to use any beads or wraps until theyre mature but could thdy help keep em separated? Any tips or tricks for seperating out there?

I am on day three, my hair is also super frizzy like yours. Mine has sectioned out pretty well so far. I have been using some Aloe Vera on it. I hope I can stick this all out, I think our hair type is a lot alike and I am tired of the love hate relationship I have with it.
