Hair Separation...

Hi all...I'm gonna do my best to describe my problem the best I can....I have used a hook on some of my dreads only two or three times in the year that I've had them. They were installed, however, using a hook...Anyway...I do have the dreadlock extensions in my hair. Originally my hair was way too short to naturally dread it, so I went with the extensions, while I allow my real hair to grow out, while also allowing it do dread also.

My problem: On one of my locks, my real hair is coming out (at the bottom, NOT the root) from the extension itself, and honestly is an eye sore. How can I fix this problem, without using those horrible hooks?

It was very short....I have to say that in this past year, I've grown attached to the extensions, so I don't really wanna take them out, until my natural hair is grown out a lot more. Photo is attached...I took it the best I could. I hope this helps explain the problem. I'm actually quite embarrassed about it. *Sighs*

why embarrassed its the most real looking part of them

i would absolutely lose the extentions you will be very happy yopu did

but its your choice

dreads should have loops lumps bumps

its the extentions that look off since they dont have any charachter at all

let me explwain something

salons sell an unrealistic and complete.y manufactured dread look

no loose hairs prfectly round and smooth no kinks or bumps they arent really dreads cause they are never alowed to actualy dread

dreads start off like this

loopy crazy wild and free

thoise loops suck in as they mature and smooth out to be lumps and surface texture

its what makes thwm unique and beautiful

but salons will make u feel ashamed if u got 1 loose hair or a lump or loop

the very signs they are actualy dreading they will chop off loops burn off looe hairs crochet them into a perfect roundness

all just to take your money and screw up your dreads

remove the extentions and u8 will be far more propud of ypir real dreads

Oh my extensions weren't done by a salon. They were custom made by a friend, who moved away shortly after they were installed....And they actually do have the bumps, and loops in them, they just don't show up very good in photos. They all vary in size, and none of them are perfectly round. I actually get stopped on a daily basis when I'm out and about from people giving me compliments on them. It's just that one lock that has me wondering what I could do to fix it. I'll just leave it be. Since it's in the back, I can't see it, so it's not THAT huge of a deal. I guess, like some other members, I'm a bit OCD about them.

well they are always best when left alone just washing and seperating nothing else

so they will take care of themselves
