One session take up to 6 months to fix themselves. Multiple sessions may take longer. There are now so many broken hairs that have tons of tips that need to get sucked back in. It would be better for your locks to try and loosen them up a little bit with jojoba oil or aloe that will make it easier to pull them in

Evenoccasionalcrocheting damages them. Every session causes tons of broken hairs that eventually pop out and make you feel like you need to fix it. If you let it go, they would fix themselves and get pulled in.

Every time you poke a hole in your locks, you are hurting them and making them weaker and weaker to the point tat they won't last a lifetime. If you do the roots too, they will eventually snap off because the roots are so weak that they can support the weight of the lock itself.

Welcome. But crocheting is almost as bad as wax. It's extremely damaging to the longevity of your locks.
