1 interlocking is horible! but wax is too a scam, and a dread killer but www.dreadlockshampoo.com has developed wax b gone which will save them (yes wax is stil in them ruining them a decade after 1 use)
2 they also make the absolute best dread shampoo however if you have alot of wax and shampoo buildup you might also have dread rt so rot knot might e needed as well
3 once the wax is removed even thugh they are 4 years old they might revert to a younger stage (wax prevents dreading and maturing) just wash with a good truly natural and residue free shampoo (like the 1 i suggested) and leave thm alone to let them dread
