That's one of the great things about this site; Such an amazing community, and people that actually understand what progress looks like and then you go out in your own hometown and have people asking if you're "still dreading your hair" because they came undone or have hair dressers offer to "Fix" them for you. They will look messy, but it's a beautiful process and we are so lucky to have this site to remind us on those uncertain days that we love our locks. :D
Good luck with your T&R and I can't wait to see your progress, I will def keep an eye out for your update!
Using T&R method, right? That's really good for starting out, I have some pretty good knots that formed in the first weeks and it really helped keep my hair separated even when they fell out. And thank you very much! Mine are around a month and a half old, I'm excited to update my timeline in a few weeks to show off my (very slight) beginnings of a zigzag dread. :P This is such a fun journey, you're going to love it.
Welcome. KB's gel is not worth the risk of the problems it will cause. Check out the gels from dreadlockshampoo.com if you really want to use one. That gel is designed to evaporate on it's own and wash out in just plain water. It doesn't leave any residue.
But then again, you never need to use a gel at all. Locks tighten up on their own
