Welcome. I guess Barrellady sent you the link to my video. It's scary what palm rolling can do. After only doing it for 2 weeks, my locks are still messed up 7 years later

Welcome to the community Derrick. Was with you on knotty chat and learned about your thinning dreads, the six you have with your normal hair. Now you know what palm rolling does- thins out your roots. I hope you read the post & watched the video I suggested to you. Soaring Eagles also asked the best question, did you use wax? And you answer was yes. In order to save those six dreads, please remove the wax, you will loose hair once the glueing of them comes out, that will be all the hair that fell out and makes your roots thin. Your hair will grow again and the the new growth will thicken up, but no more wax or palm rolling, okay...peace

Welcome to the community Jessica. You certainly came to the right place to learn all about growing and keeping dreadlocks healthy and happy. The dreaducation section at the top of the site is a great place to start. You will learn tips and methods. All you need to begin is stop brushing. Neglect / Free Form is the best choice, then the twist and rip method, However you begin, let your hair separate into natural sections first, this takes a couple of weeks to happen from not brushing and washing them with dread shampoo or the baking soda wash & apple cider vinegar rinse. Use the search bar near the top left to key in words to search on a certain topic. Have any questions after, feel free to ask us, we are all here to help, all of us. Here is a map of your water type, soft water allows you to use many dread shampoos and bars on the market, with hard water, there is a very limited choice, as many leave behind a residue when used with hard water. Enjoy your new beginnings when you start...peace
