Thanks for the advise Baba...

Check that vid out. Part 2 is coming soon. When you separate, don't separate all the way to your scalp. Just enough so the body of the locks aren't connected. You should always have a messy tangled rats nest around the roots
I almost cant see my scalp. there's so much loose hair. But I love it. Some of my sections have even already started joining together at the roots. I needed to separate them. so far, I don't have anything that's posing to be a problem.. thank Goodness. right now I am not doing anything to my dreads. Although I am targeting the two year deadline... (for maturity) I am happy with what I am seeing. I'm still having trouble uploading some of my photos. Now, that my dreads are over a month, I am starting to feel lousy about keeping track of the details of the progress... I mean, whether I keep track or not, THEY'LL DREAD-all i need to do is just separate them to avoid humungous congos.
Straight hair doesn't necessarily knot slower than kinky hair. Eagle knows so Japanese guy who's hair locked up in weeks.
There are 1001 factors that go into how fast hair knots. How kinky or curly it is to start is only one of them.
I hope, now that you started, you can't see your scalp like in this pic
hahaha....yep I know. I have straight hair which would make the knotting longer compared to kinky hair. so, what i did here was I had my hair in curls so I can get the knotting a few weeks faster compared to if I had just my normal straight hair. It did the trick actually. i was trying to upload some of the photos I have but my connection is so slow... its over a month now since I did the twist N rip a few days after i did this curl thing.
What exactly is going on there? It looks unbelievably uncomfortable. What's the goo that is in your hair? Or is it just wet? I have to tel you, that there is nothing you should ever do to "prep" you hair for locks
