Plea for Help

By Daryl Brandon, 2010-05-20

Alright, the First Post was kinda like an intro.
Now, i'm going to pick some brains.
My hair is weird.
I'm half Black and Half White, and my hair is like no other.
It looks like similar to some hair, but it's got a personality unlike any other.
It's never obeyed for more than an hour.
I tried everything when I was younger.
Straightening, Cornrows, even when I wanted it to do what it did, it seemed to find a way to do the opposite.

Well, as you can guess, i'm here to learn how to dread.
I know about the crap I bought and I respect my hair enough to refuse to use it.
So this is where i'm at.
I hired a Loctician to do my hair, we backcombed it, (My hair NEEDS the push)
rubber banded it to start the Lock, and i'm going to start meeting with the Loctician every couple of weeks to get the dreads looked at.

I know that most of you guys like completely natural growing dreads and that's awesome, but I like to make a path for them, you know?
Me and my hair have been through alot. (people throwing gum in it, people taunting me for having it, etc.)
I've learned alot about my hair and my hair is a valuable companion to me.
and as such I take special care of it ALL the time.

I want to find out how people with difficult to tame hair manage to dread theirs.
Tips on what to use when Backcombing.
What Shampoo is best to help Lock and clear bacteria.
What I can do to keep my scalp moisturized.
How I can keep my scalp from being oily.

Basically, what can I do to Keep my Dreadlocks super Clean>?

My Hair.

By Daryl Brandon, 2010-05-19
Well me and my hair have always been close. So much so that it was what people defined me by.I was the dude with the 'Fro.Then I became the dude who looked like Corbin Bleu...Meh, it's always stuck by me, and i've always been a bit overprotective of it.It's gotten me chicks, conversation, friends, pretty much anything I wanted...Til High School ended and I needed to find a job.So about two years ago I decided to end the relationship. It was fun while it lasted, but it was time to move onto other things.I cut my hair, kept it short for a while and went on with life, started making money and everything was good for a time. Now i'm kinda done with my job and making a different life decision soon.So I finally decided to act on my dreams and make myself some dreads. As with most I decided to drop by a certain site and buy a kit.I also hired a Loctician to help me out. After touching the wax she told me it smelled pretty, but she refused to use it.So we went on using some other stuff, mostly non-stick hairspray to help backcombing. After it was all said and done I was kinda puzzled.I saw so many pictures of satisfied customers with beautiful dreads, and I wanted em.Meh, I calmed down and did some dreadhead searches.I hit some Superhippy.com guy barking about the Wax and trying to promote his own crap, Many Johnny Clean defense vids , Johnny is a tyrant Vids, and everything was pretty much saying " Do Not Use Wax ".Only 1 Video made a difference to me. It was this little asshole .I don't know why, but what he said and did really made me want to check out that banner he threw up at the end.So I jumped in and I saw what I needed. The Johnny Clean vs. Dreadlockssite.com argument. Now i'm lost...Because i've no pictures for the Site, check my Myspace for the pics of my old Hair...Myspace.com/Demerick
