Welcome. But the palm rolling doesn't help locking. It only does 1 of 2 things. If you aren't doing it a lot and hard, it won't create any lasting knots. It just makes them look neat for a few hours. It just fills in time and gives you something to do with your hands. If you do it enough to see lasting knots, it does extreme damage to your roots.
I have a video on here of what only 2 weeks of palm rolling did to my locks. 6 years later I am still trying to fix the damage

welcome! i recommend you ease off of the palm rolling as that's bad for the roots but other that backcombing is alright. happy dreading!
